Let me tell you about a man who did.
Elwin LeFevre grew up on a farm in northern Illinois. After graduating from college, he spent time serving overseas, rebuilding homes that had been destroyed in areas affected by violence. When he returned home, he entered a career teaching middle school earth science and coaching cross-country. Elwin lived a simple life—working hard, serving his community, and investing his financial resources regularly along the way.

With a passion for reading and education and a love for the church and its mission, Elwin gave regularly to the ministries that touched his heart. When Elwin died in 2023, he continued that generosity through his estate plan and gave world-changing dollars to the organizations he was passionate about.
MennoMedia is blessed to be one of the recipients of Elwin’s generosity. Through his gift, this ministry of producing materials that enrich Christian faith from an Anabaptist perspective will be forever affected—enabling us to launch an endowment to support the ministry long into the future, which is something we have only ever dreamed of.
If you, like Elwin, want to change the world, we invite you to consider your own generosity planning. Consider the ways you regularly support ministries like MennoMedia and explore ways to remember the causes and organizations you are passionate about in your end-of-life planning. Join Elwin in changing the course of history through a gift today, and consider how you may change the world through your own long-term generosity planning.
In faith and gratitude,
